Michael Rhys Scott's

"The Brave Little Bee is a bittersweet fable for our times. A charming story with delightful illustrations, it leads us to face the dilemmas involved in telling the truth despite authority's disapproval and society's displeasure. Our little hero does the right thing in the face of rejection - something far too few of us seem capable of. The story is a wonderful introduction to the world of ethics and moral decision making for children, and hits home for us adults as well.

(The Brave Little Bee: Trials in Trifles) is a lesson guide for educators who would like to introduce moral thinking without treading on delicate religious issues. I heartily recommend it!

I hope that Mr. Scott continues working on modern fables. As psychologist Rollo May pointed out many years ago, our society today is in desperate need of stories that guide our lives, something that television and movies seem unable to do. I personally would like to see how the brave little bee deals with the isolation he suffers as a result of his bravery.

Please keep writing, Michael!"

The Brave Little Bee captures the attention and interest of all age groups.

Just as bees, we all find our comfort in groups that we can identify with. It's hard to voice concerns when we attract attention that may not be positive or flattering to those around us.

The Brave Little Bee has many layers of lessons. My first graders saw a brave bee that was not afraid to speak up and share a concern.

As an educator, I could see creating many open-ended discussions with my class using the adventures of this brave bee. Michael Rhys Scott has written a book that appeals to all groups with lessons for all ages.

"As Director of a tutorial reading program for elementary students, I am constantly reading and searching for children's books. When I was given a copy of " The Brave Little Bee " I immediately read it in it's entirety because it was so eloquently written with a simply captivating child-like quality. I am such a fan, that I ordered several copies to be given to outstanding students in (our) GREAT LEAPS Reading Program as a reward. This book has an appeal that pans all grade levels and imparts positive messages for anyone from 8 to 80 years old.

The colorful detailed illustrations enhance the rich, lush narrative. I highly recommend this book to teachers, librarians and especially parents who wish to pass on characteristics of empowerment and self-determination to their children."

The Brave Little Bee's author, Michael Rhys Scott has captured the hearts and imaginations of his readers. The book deserves the widest possible audience.

In a very clear, concise, and substantive manner, this budding author tackles the ethical and moral issues, which are already being discussed by a generation of "seekers".

This simplistic fable is multifaceted in its approach to the age old war between right versus convenience; and popularity versus speaking truth to power. A one word summary is in order: WOW!

"The Brave Little Bee" is a wonderful little story that tackles the large price of doing the right thing. In a society accustomed to choosing comfort over caring and fear over love, this book is a breath of fresh air. Every generation can benefit from the little bee's unending persistence, genuine concern, and sheer will to endure the consequences of his right actions. I give kudos and many thanks to Michael Rhys Scott for offering us and our children the spirit of courage through the tenacity of a brave little worker bee.
